Netgear 1-PORT USB MINI PRINT SERVER

Strengths:  Share USB printer through network.
Weaknesses:  Cheesy look.
Review:  Works as advertised to put a USB printer (in this case a HP Color Inkjet 932C) on a network. Note that I could not network this printer with other parallel printservers. Able to print from various Windows-based computers. NOt tried with non-Windows computers. Does not do 2-way communications though (like checking ink levels,...), but what to expect from a such a cheap unit.

Weaknesses:  Cost, power supply design, and lack of phoneline interface.

The power supply desi...

Netgear PS110 parallel print server (2 port)
Strengths:  Pretty solid and forgiving, ports easy to define, installation of PRINTERS simple on network PCs. Each printer individually controlled and buffered.
Weaknesses:  install program a bit dated and relies on IPX for first connection (bad for XP systems) expensive
Review:  I've been using Netgear print servers for several years and this one has been near bulletproof. One I personally use has now been in service for 60 months continually (it has outlasted the printers). I've also installed this in customer sites without ever having a call back versus the fun with Linksys print servers.
